When I worked for AAA, I had the opportunity to create an executive dashboard from the ground up. Its purpose was to monitor and measure budget and resources; things like payments processing, quote rates, product adoption and business costs. To arrive at the right set of specific measures, existing data patterns were analyzed, primary use cases were mapped and this was then translated into clear information hierarchies and wireframes. Through iterative wireframing and user testing, the visualizations and interactions were refined to insure quick and intuitive comprehension while maintaining very simple forms that communicated brand and industry ideas. Dark and light modes were also created to accommodate visual preference.
